Get to know the types of treatment
I combine a variety of techniques to pinpoint troublesome and painful areas and help heal them. Whether you like a lot of pressure or a lighter touch, I’ll work with you to find a way that produces the desired results.
All treatments are listed on Fresha as ‘Sports Massage’ but they are tailored to the individual based on an initial consultation and feedback throughout.
sports massage
Essentially deep tissue massage with some other techniques on top. It was designed to help sports people avoid and recover from injuries but is now recognised as being of benefit for practically everyone. I’ve helped many athletes prepare for and recover from events including runners, cyclists, swimmers, boxers, martial artists, dancers and skateboarders. It’s best to leave a few days between a massage and the event as it can leave you a little sore for a while.
Remedial care
Massage specifically aimed at remedying an issue, be it excess tension, a soft-tissue injury or even stress. An initial treatment will primarily address the immediate problem with follow ups targeting the underlying cause. Where other muscles have been compensating for loss of function then these will also be treated to avoid further injury.
soft tissue massage
This defines the broader scope of treatment that massage therapists can now offer. It includes sport & remedial massage as well as techniques derived from Osteopathy and other therapies.
